Bone Collecting

A Paleontologist excavates layers of sediment to search for clues of the past to find the thrulines to today. Bible scholars comb the pages of scripture with a clear understanding of how past events of antiquity affect today.

Last week the subject of Race Norming was discussed. Unfortunately, it is just another one of the many unearthed artifacts of a system of racialized bias. How many more do we let lie beneath our feet in the sedimentary soil of history. Is America not up to the task of facing historical truth? Have fairyland fantasies, fables, and conspiracies eclipsed reality?

The past administration’s rationale for not disclosing the truth about COVID19 for months supposedly was not to induce panic among the public. But, unfortunately, that justification ended in disaster and resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths over what could have been far less lethal.

After the George Floyd lynching, America and the world experienced a point of catharsis. Now dulled by the proverbial and easily predictable backlash, similar to the use of American and other flag poles, January, sixth at the U.S. Capitol on police, the point is on the verge of becoming dulled into an instrument used to exact blunt trauma. Therefore, we turn the page to actual harm on yet another generation of marginalized communities of color. Without real change, we may never break the cycle.

Is America so quickly poised to embrace the coverup? Bone Collecting must not stop. The system of oppression that is so indelibly baked into the soil must be unearthed. Race Norming is just one of the many roots strangling the life out of future growth and the far-fetched yet attainable ideal that America is a beacon of freedom and hope for many, not just a few. Many people had never heard of Race Norming. In the same way, Tulsa’s Greenwood Massacre, the Red Summer, etc., escaped the academic discourse of many, young and old.

The coverup is so ingrained; this same principle is the reason for the commemoration of Juneteenth in the first place. This new holiday’s reason for being was to because of a retarding of the truth. The result was a two-and-a-half-year delay of freedom for slaves from the State of Texas.

It was something that Nazi Germany’s Joseph Goebbels took full advantage of “The Lie,” as he would call it.

The latest aberration of the Lie manifests in three parts, i.e., African Americans turned out in record numbers in critical areas that turned the White House from red to blue. Therefore, Lie number one was “that the election was flawed and stolen.” The second was “that it wasn’t a white supremacist led mob that stormed the Capitol White. Instead, it was Antifa, and Black Lives Matter members disguised as Trump supporters; or even FBI agents.”

In the aftermath of the George Floyd incident and this talk of systemic racism and the true racial history of America, white supremacy invents a Boogeyman Lie. The third and final Lie was to call any such talk, “Critical Race Theory,” braid it into it some Marxist propaganda, and cosmeticize it over with an implausible ‘1776 Report.’

“Truthful witness by a good person clears the air, but liars lay down a smoke screen of deceit.” Proverbs 12:17

It is time to consider the source and stand up for truth.

Stand up for what you believe in because you can fall for anything.” — Les Brown.
